Last month was quite a challenge! I love all things Christmas, but our holiday was different this year. Between working, decorating, and a weekend travel trip, last month was a whirl wind! We were out of town for 2 weeks for Christmas and I also hosted my annual cookie exchange. I am so ready for some downtime, but not the cold weather that is on the way!
This is a quick glimpse into some of my Christmas decor this year. I usually have a big tree in the living room that takes hours to hang all the ornaments. I put up a very small tree in an urn this year. I was able to decorate it in thirty minutes. I used red in my decor this year (I am not usually a red girl for holiday decorating)! I found that with just a few bold touches of red, I could get more impact, with less fuss! I don’t know if I will go back to the red for next year, or do something more my traditional look, time will tell.
The table is how I welcomed my dear friends to my annual cookie exchange. The small wrapped package at each place setting was simply a wrapped candy bar. Very simple, inexpensive, but very festive. The layered plate stand is in our kitchen and I use that stand all the time. The final photo shows a portion of our mantel along with our doggie, Orbi and his bone. I went to take the photo and he almost looked like he was posing, so he had to make the photo.
I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday season! I look forward to sharing some fun ideas in the coming months. Please check back as I will be sharing about some decorating changes after I take the current decorations down. I will also be sharing some things to create for Valentine’s Day and some other fun ideas! I am a true believer that you can create a look using all things together. High-end items can be paired with inexpensive items for an unexpected look. My friends have been telling me for years that I need to share my ideas…. so here it goes – won’t you follow along with me?!
Happy New Year! Let’s individualize this new year for each of us!
With Love,
Chenn

This is the exact tiered stand that I constantly have on display in my home. I use it for serving, but I love to put seasonal decor on it to brighten up my kitchen!
